Why Do This?

The Finneytown Pride Project was started in 2002 by a small group of parents who saw the need for improvements at the High School & Middle School campus. These improvements were not in the budget, so these parents approached the Finneytown Schools Educational Foundation to see if the Foundation would be interested in supporting a project.

The Finneytown Schools Educational Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization which provides grants for grade levels K-12 to support academics, arts, and athletics. It provides college scholarships for graduating seniors. It provides funding for the Finneytown Community Services program. Funds are raised primarily through memberships, gifts, and donations. Gifts of highly appreciated stock and other assets are accepted. All donations and memberships are fully tax-deductible. The Foundation is an all-volunteer organization, with no paid staff. Administrative expenses for postage, insurance, etc. is typically less than 5%, so more than 95% of all donations benefit the school system. The Foundation Board is comprised of Parents of students, Teachers, Administrators, Alumni, and Members of the Community.

November 2011:

The Finneytown Music Parents Association has been selected as this year's recipient of the Ohio Music Education Association's "Outstanding Support Group" Award!

Nomindated by Jason McKeeof the Music Department, the FMPA supports the music programs of the Finneytown Local School Distict through financial and volunteer involvement. The mission of the OMEA is to foster a spirit of collaboration for the mutual benefit of all aspects of music education. Mr. McKee was recently informed by the President-Elect of the OMEA that the FMPA will be honored on February 17, 2012 in Columbus, OH.
