About

The Finneytown Community

Finneytown is formally defined by the boundaries of the Finneytown Local School District, which is comprised of a 4.8 square mile area in the southern part of Springfield Township in northcentral Hamilton County, Ohio. The district is bounded by school districts in Cincinnati to the south, North College Hill and Mt. Healthy to the west, Winton Woods to the north, and Wyoming to the east. Springfield Township is the local governing body, providing police, fire, paramedic, and street maintenance services.

Approximately 11,500 people in 4,400 households live in Finneytown.

The Pride Project

The Finneytown Pride Project was begun in 2002 by a small group of parents who saw the need for improvements at the Finneytown Main campus. These improvements were not in the school district budget, so these parents approached the Finneytown Schools Educational Foundation to see if the Foundation would be interested in supporting a project. The Foundation Board became an enthusiastic supporter of the Pride Project. Countless hours of study and planning have been undertaken by the Pride Committee, visiting other school districts and interviewing their staffs, inspecting renovations or new construction projects, and interviewing architects, to ensure the proper amount of due diligence has been provided for a project of this scope.

The Finneytown Schools Educational Foundation

The Finneytown Schools Educational Foundation, Inc. is a Section 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation which provides grants for grade levels K-12 to support academics, arts, and athletics. The Foundation also provides college scholarships for graduating seniors and funding for the Finneytown Community Services program. Funds are raised primarily through memberships, gifts, and donations. Gifts of highly appreciated stock and other assets are accepted. All donations are fully tax-deductible.

The Foundation is an all-volunteer organization, with no paid staff. Administrative expenses for postage, insurance, etc. are typically less than 5%, so more than 95% of all funds directly benefit the school district. The Foundation Board is comprised of Parents of students, Teachers, Administrators, Alumni, and Members of the Community.
